Alvechurch - Circular Walk
We are very pleased to invite all members to join the Bromsgrove Boaters Spring Country Walk on Saturday 30th May.
It’s a circular route, just under 6 miles (approx. 2.5 hours) in the countryside surrounding the village of Alvechurch. It’s an enjoyable walk with no steep gradients, mainly on public footpaths and canal towpaths, plus the odd quiet lane. It should be quite manageable for all ages & fitness levels.
There’s boating interest too in the form of the Barnt Green Sailing Club reservoir, where we’ll pause for refreshments, and the Alvechurch longboat moorings, both of which are passed en-route.
VC Paul Matthew will be leading the walk and we attach a pdf map of the route.
The walk will start from the Crown Inn pub in Alvechurch at 10:00am. They have plenty of parking, enabling you to park your car and return later for lunch.
The walk is free, but we'll open a ticket option to get a vague idea of interest and support. Some people have suggested our previous talks left little time for socialising. Here you can fill your boots, both on the walk and over lunch. If you plan to attend for lunch only, we’ll sit at approximately 12:30pm.
