DATES - Thursday Evenings - 15th May to 17th July (6:30pm till 9pm)
The Learn to sail course is based on the RYA Levels 1 and 2 and is run several times a year. The course introduces you to the boat and the controls and steps you through the basic skills you need. By the end of the course, you should be able to helm a boat around a triangular course and be able to sail in light to moderate conditions.
Sailing is a sport that is dependent on the weather conditions, and so the training can vary
We run the Learn to Sail as an adult course, however if you have children over 12 years of age who you would like to learn with, this can be accommodated. We will NOT put unaccompanied children on these courses, but we do run separate Junior training (See our Junior training section).
We provide the boats and a buoyancy aid for your safety, and we can recommend suitable clothing (see Initial training clothes section). All you need to start with though is some warm man made fibre clothing with a spray top / coat and a pair of non slip trainers or boots. (Not wellingtons). As with all sports there is specialist clothing which you should look at as soon as you are confident that you are going to pursue the sport.
Trainees must be members of Budworth Sailing Club, please sign up for membership using Webcollect. If you have any problems then please email Craig Hewett our membership secretary email@example.com or Training Co-ordinator Jon Chapman firstname.lastname@example.org
Once you have paid for the course on this page, please download the Enrolment form, fill this in and send it to Jon at the above email address. (Don't worry about signing it now, you will be asked to sign on the day your course starts).
