RYA Level 1
This learn to sail course is available to members and prospective members of Chelmarsh Sailing Club. The course is intended for complete beginners and is taught using the club’s training fleet of Pico, GP14, Xenon and Feva dinghies by RYA Qualified Instructors. Maximum of 6 students per instructor.
The course is 2 day duration and will cover the RYA Level 1 (Start Sailing) of the RYA National Sailing Scheme Syllabus. The RYA Beginners Handbook and the RYA National Sailing Scheme Log Book will be provided for all trainees, along with RYA Certificate of completion for those who successfully complete the course. Those completing the course should be able to rig a boat with assistance and sail a basic triangular course in light winds.
For those wishing to develop skills further to be able to sail on their own, an RYA Level 2 Course follows this course or can be booked later in the year (July).

Participants will need to become club members to join the course, this is a minimum of 3 months membership and then option of monthly payments or cancelling after the initial three-month period. If you are not already a member of Chelmarsh Sailing Club, please complete a membership request form, initial 3 months £52.50.
Membership renewal is by direct debit and can be paid monthly at £18.85 per month or annually at £210.00 for an ordinary member. Other membership options eg family or student, are available, please contact for more details.
