Come discover Sailing, Windsurfing and Paddleboarding at Covenham Sailing Club

Our open day is on the 18th May from 11am to 3.30pm

There will be a host of activities, both on and off the water. 

On the water

Sailing

No booking is needed to try sailing, just turn up and our experienced helms will take you out on the water.

We have a large variety of boats to take you out in

Although we do not intend to get wet, we would always recommend you bring a change of clothes, a spare pair of footwear that you don't mind getting wet and a towel.

We will supply buoyancy aids to everyone that goes out on the water.

Windsurfing

Each windsurfing taster will last about an hour, it will be a combination of land drills (Showing you how to hold the rig and stand on the board) and water excersices.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your booking to get changed into a wet-suit (We can supply wet-suits and buoyancy aids)

Please bring:

• Footwear you don't mind getting wet (No Wellies or flip-flops)
• Towel
• Change of clothes

Stand up Paddle-boarding

Each Paddleboarding taster will last about an hour, it will be a combination of land drills (Showing you how to hold the rig and stand on the board) and water excersices.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your booking to get changed into a wet-suit (We can supply wet-suits and buoyancy aids)

Please bring:

• Footwear you don't mind getting wet (No Wellies or flip-flops)
• Towel
• Change of clothes

Off the water

We have many things to do off the water:

• Try out our land drill boat, learn how to tack (turn the boat through the wind) while keeping your feet dry
• Discover more about training opportunities in our Sailing classroom - including a virtual sailing simulator
• Enjoy a (Non-alcoholic) drink at our bar
• See the different types of boats and boards used at Covenham Sailing club
• Chat with our members
• Possibly enjoy an Ice cream or a bite to eat at our canteen

Or why not just have a walk around the reservoir - about 40 minutes to walk round the edge
