Please read the following notes before applying:
Our membership year runs from 1st April for 12 months but you can join at any time of the year. Membership categories and fees are detailed below.
- You will need to add the appropriate type of membership to your order (i.e. Family, Individual, Young Adult, Junior or Social) and a Joining Fee for Family and Individual memberships.
- You should add a Boat Fee for each boat you intend to use or keep at the club. A boat fee is payable for every boat kept or sailed at the club. Individual Members can request one boat space and a Family Member group can request two. Subject to availability you can request additional boat spaces. If you sail your own boat(s) you are required to hold adequate insurance, in particular (each boat) must hold insurance against third party claims to the sum of at least £2,000,000.
- A one-off Key Deposit is payable per key if you require a key to access the club grounds and clubhouse.
- All membership applications go through an approval process which can take up to two weeks. You will receive email updates on the status of your application and a welcome pack once your application is approved and your payment has been received. Payments are annual and may be made by bank transfer or by direct debit.
If applying part way through a year:
- Applying between 1st October and 31st January - for first time Family and Individual Memberships only, a reduced price is payable, which includes membership up to 31st March. See tables below for prices.
- Applying between 1st February and 31st March - the full membership fee is payable, which includes the remainder of the current year up to the 31st March plus the whole of the following membership year from 1st April.
Duties:
- Individual, Young Adult, and lead Family members are required to do club sailing duties.
- Members should expect to do around 2-3 duties each year. Duties are allocated on each of our sailing days: Saturdays, Sundays, Wednesday daytime and a few Thursday evenings in the summer - the latter two are for Rescue Helms (an OOD is also rostered on Wednesday daytimes). Those racing on Wednesday evenings will undertake additional duties specific to that race series. See the Duties Booklet for more information on duties.
- Members not required to do duties are 'non-lead' Family Members who do not sail at the club more than 6 times per year, Junior members and Social Members - see Club Rules for exceptions.
