Helmingham Hall Showing Show 2023

 

Classes for all ages & abilities. Open to members and non-members of Gipping Riding Society.

 

Booking Process

 

Step 2: Class Selection 

- Select member or non-member

- Select the number of tickets. 1 ticket = 1 class entry.

- As part of the checkout process complete the form selecting the class number from the drop down menu. Repeat the form for each ticket purchased.

 

Ring One:

The Eastern Group Working Hunter Ring          Start: 8.30am           Judge: Tina Hazlem

Class 1.

 

Clear Round Working Hunter

Fences 45cm-54cm. Pay on ringside £2.00 per round. Rosettes to all clear rounds.  Please note fence heights will not be altered.

Start: 9.30am

Class 2.

 

Green Working Hunter Pony

Not exceeding 152cm & not to have been placed 1st in any working hunter class. Fences approx. 60cm.

Class 3.

 

Equifest Mountain & Moorland Working Hunter Pony

Mountain & Moorland Working Hunter Pony, registered in their respective Pure Bred Societies of Connemara, Dartmoor, Dales, Exmoor, New Forest, Fell, Highland Shetland or Welsh A,B, C or D. Stallion, mare or gelding. 4 years old & over. Riders any age. If classes are divided, they must be divided by height and NOT by breed. Heights: not exceeding 122cm max height: 65cm. 122cm-133cmmax height 75cm. 133cm-143cm max height 85cm. Exceeding 143cm max height 95cm. 

Class 4.

 

Open Working Hunter Pony

Not exceeding 152cm. Ponies to be plaited. Fences approx. 75cm.

Class 5.

   

 Clear Round Working Hunter

Fences 60-70cm. Pay on ringside £2.00 per round. Rosettes to all clear rounds.  Please note fence heights will not be altered. Class will run for 1 hour.

Class 6.

Working Cob

Open to traditional and show cobs, any colour. Any height. Fences approx.. 75cm

Class 7.

 

Green Working Hunter

Exceeding 153cm & not to have been placed 1st in any working hunter class. Fences approx. 75cm.

Class 8.

  

Open Working Hunter

Exceeding 153cm. Fences approx. 90cm.

Ring Two          Start 9.00am          Judge: TBC

Class 9.

 

 

Novice Ridden Pony

Ponies under 148cm. Walk & trot only. No lead reins. Combination not to have won 2 x 1st’s in a showing class.

Class 10.

 

 

Novice Ridden Horse

Horses exceeding 148cm. No cantering together. Combination not to have won 2 x 1st’s in a showing class.

Class 11.

 

 

Open Ridden Veteran Horse / Pony

Stallion, mare or gelding, 15 years old and over. Any type or breed. Rider any age.  Classes may be divided according to entries. 

Class 12.

 

Ridden Family Horse / Pony

Horse or pony suitable for any member of the family. To be ridden in a snaffle bridle.

Class 13.

 

Ridden Riding Club Pony                                                                         

Not to exceed 148cm. To include at least 3 jumps max height 50cm. Rider any age.

Class 14.

 

 Ridden Riding Club Horse 

To exceed 148cm. To include at least 3 jumps max height 65cm.

 Ridden Costume Concours d’Elegance

Class divided between juniors and seniors. Juniors must wear hats to current British Safety Standards. Adults not wearing current British Safety Standard hats do so at their own risk.

Equifest Open Ridden Mountain & Moorland

Open to Mountain & Moorland ponies registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies of Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh A, B, C and D.  Stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over.  Rider any age. This class will be divided between large & small breeds if numbers permit.

Class 17.

‘EQ’

Equifest Open Small Hunters

Open Small Hunter, mare or gelding. 4 years old & over. Exceeding 148cms but not exceeding 158cms. Rider any age.

 

 

Class 18.

Equifest Ridden Hunters

Open Ridden Hunter, mare or gelding, 4 years old & over, exceeding 153cms.  Riders any age.Class may be divided as follows:

  • Lightweight Hunter, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, capable of carrying up to 12.7 stone. 
  • Middleweight Hunter, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, capable of carrying 12.7 stone but not 14 stone.
  • Heavyweight Hunter, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over capable of carrying over 14 stone

Class 19.

 

Ridden Cob/Cob Type

May be hogged, plaited or traditional vanner. Any height.

Class 20.

BSPA / Equifest Ridden Piebald / Skewbald

Open ridden Piebald / Skewbald stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Riders any age. The first three places will also qualify for the BSPA Championship. Subject to their show rules & conditions.

Class 21.

Equifest Riding Horses

Open Riding Horse. Mare or gelding. 4 years old and over. Any height.  Riders any age.Classes may be divided as follows:

  • Small Riding Horses - mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 148cms but not exceeding 158cms.  Riders any age.
  • Large Riding Horses - mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 158cms.  Riders any age.

Class 22.

 

Equifest Open Re-trained Racehorse

Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4 years old & over, any height. Horses must have raced in Great Britain to be eligible to compete. 

 

Class 23.

Ridden Competition/Sport Horse 

To be judged on a set show to include: canter figure of eight with change of leg, extended trot across the diagonal and free walk on a long rein.

In hand Youngstock

Open to 1,2 & 3 year olds. Any breed.

In Hand Novice Handler

Combination not to have won 2 x 1st’s in any showing class. Horse or pony 4 years old & over. No colts or stallions. To be judged on handler’s ability. Will be split between juniors and seniors.

Class 28.

 

In Hand Riding Horse / Hunter / Hunter Pony

Horse or pony. Any height or age.

Class 29.

In Hand Cob / Cob Type

May be hogged, plaited or traditional vanner. Any height or age.

Class 30.

In Hand Coloured / Spotted / Palomino

Horse or pony. Any height or age.

Class 31.

In Hand Foreign Breeds 

Open to any pure or part bred breed not originating from the UK e.g Haflinger, Lusitano etc. Any height or age. Special rosette awarded to the highest pure/part bred/Anglo Arab.

Class 32.

 

 

In Hand Veteran

Horse or pony 15 years or over. Any height. 

Class 33.

In Hand Thoroughbred  / Thoroughbred Type

Open to part or pure bred thoroughbreds. Any height.

Ridden Best Condition & Turnout

Lead rein allowed.

Class 35.

 

Lead Rein Tiny Tots

Not to exceed 128cm. Rider 6 years old & under. Plaited or unplaited. To be judged on manners & suitability for lead rein not conformation. Lead reins to be attached to nosebands.

Class 36.

‘EQ’

 

Equifest Mountain & Moorland Lead Rein

Open to Mountain & Moorland ponies, registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies of Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest, Shetland and Welsh A or B.  Mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms.  Riders not to have attained their 9th birthday before 1st January in the current year.  To be led by an attendant and shown in a Snaffle Bridle, the lead rein to be attached to the noseband only.

Class 37.

 

Lead Rein Novice Ridden

Combination not to won 2 x 1st‘s in a showing class. Lead reins to be attached to nosebands.

Class 38.

 

First Ridden

Not to exceed 128cm. Rider 12 years and under. Prize to winner generously donated by Kings of Suffolk.

Class 39.

 

Ridden Foreign Breeds

Open to any pure or part bred breed not originating from the UK e.g Hafflinger, Lustanio etc Open to horses & ponies. Any height. Special rosette awarded to the highest pure/part bred/Anglo Arab.

Class 40.

 

Equifest Open Ridden Part-Breds

Stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Exhibits in this section must be registered in the Part Bred section of their respective Breed Society. Registration numbers must be stated on entry form, Horses and ponies will not be ridden at the final. Riders any age. Classes may be divided as appropriate.
