The club welcomes new members, Please contact the membership secretary before applying for membership: if you are already experienced and have your own equipment, we will forward this to the appropriate sport captain. If you are a novice requiring training, we will keep you informed on when we plan to run courses again.

Glossop Sailing Club is a community amateur sports club run entirely by volunteers. Membership is available for adults and juniors. We also cater for groups for example Sea Cadets. Our activities include the sports of sailing, windsurfing and paddling.

For beginners in these sports, adult or junior we offer training - please check with us for dates when this will be available.

The club is volunteer run and therefore all adult members are expected to complete a minimum of 3 duties per year to contribute to the running of club activities. Advice and support is available finding duties suitable for your skills.

Membership Types:

  1. Adult: Full membership covers you and any dependent children under 18 for sailing, windsurfing and paddling at the club. Dependent children should be added as Junior Family Members (free). All adults who sail, windsurf or paddle should take out a subscription.
  2. Social: Non-active sailors can join as social members to enjoy the club facilities.
  3. Students: Adults in full time education are eligible for the student rate. 
  4. Berths: should be added for each boat or board to be stored at the club. Please contact us for availability before paying for a berth.



  1. Juniors: We are keen to encourage juniors whose parents are not already club members to join. We follow RYA training pathways to support the achievements of our junior members. There are regular junior sessions for dinghy and windsurfing.

  1. Groups: Various groups and organisations use the facilities for group activities (eg canoe clubs, student clubs). Please enquire about group membership.
  2. Club Keys: can be obtained for a deposit. Contact us for further details.

Student

Monthly Subscription
Student Standard £3

This is for adults who are in full time education. Evidence of full time education is required. Responsibilities are the same as adult members.

Kit Storage: No boat/board storage is included. A boat/board storage subscription must be added if you want to keep a boat/board at the club.

Payment Terms: Annual membership is £36 Payment MUST BE BY MONTHLY DIRECT DEBIT ONLY and for a minimum duration of 12 months.  This membership type will automatically renew each month.   If you wish to cancel your membership, you MUST contact the club at:  contact@sail-glossop.org.uk   Should you fail to maintain payments for the minimum 12 month period, or choose to take a break from membership, any requests to rejoin within a rolling 12 month period will only be accepted upon payment for the missed fees during which the membership lapsed. e.g. if you leave in January and rejoin in May you will be required to pay the membership fees covering January to May. 

 

Boat/Board Storage

Monthly Subscription
Boat Berth £5
Windsurf Board Berth £5

Please add one of these to your basket for each boat or board you keep at the club. Before you take out this subscription, please check with us for availability of boat or board storage.

Payment Terms:  Payment is by MONTHLY DIRECT DEBIT and for a minimum duration of 12 months. This membership type will automatically renew.

Adult

Monthly Subscription
Adult Standard £12

For active members over 18 years wanting to sail, windsurf or paddle.

Dependent children may be added as free junior family members once you have registered their details (add a junior family membership for each child). 

All members must agree to abide by the rules of the club. The club is run by volunteers, there are no paid positions. You will be expected to undertake duties according to to your skills (there are training opportunities!). 

Kit Storage: No boat/board storage is included. A boat/board storage subscription must be added if you want to keep a boat/board at the club.

Payment Terms: Annual fees are £144, Payment MUST BE BY MONTHLY DIRECT DEBIT ONLY and for a minimum duration of 12 months.  This membership type will automatically renew each month.   If you wish to cancel your membership, you MUST contact the club at:  membership@glossopsailing.co.uk

Junior Family

Social members are non-sailing members who have access to the clubhouse facilities.

Kit Storage: Social members are not allowed to keep boats or boards at the club.
