IOCA East Open Winter Training 2018/2019
Our IOCA East winter training programme covers 10 days of training over 5 weekends during the winter from November to April at a range of venues in the Eastern region. It is possible to book single days of training and there is a discount of 15% if you book all 5 weekends!
We are very lucky to have Flynn Davies acting as our Head Coach for the whole programme, supported by Holly Dabson who is also coaching the zonies this winter.
This programme is suitable for sailors of all ability levels from IOCA Level 2 to our National Squad sailors.
As a practical minimum children taking part must have their own boat and be able to comfortably sail in a range of conditions and be willing to race on the water. We recommend a dry suit for colder weather.
Sailors will be assessed and placed into groups dependent on experience and ability and we will operate a coaching ratio of 1:7 for all groups.
The training will take place on the following dates:
- Saturday 24th November - Royal Corinthian YC
- Sunday 25th November - Royal Corinthian YC
- Saturday 5th January - Norfolk Broads YC
- Sunday 6th January - Norfolk Broads YC
- Saturday 2nd February - Royal Corinthian YC
- Sunday 3rd February - Royal Corinthian YC
- Saturday 16th March - Alton Water
- Sunday 17th March - Alton Water
- Saturday 13th April - Stone SC
- Sunday 14th April - Stone SC
Unless otherwise stated, registration will be open from 9:15 and sailors should be rigged and ready for a briefing at 9:45 prompt. Sailors will be off the water and packed up by 16:45. We will need adult helpers at each event, both on and off the water so do please be available to help.
The cost is £30 per day of coaching. Entry fees are non-refundable unless there is a paid entry on the waiting list, or if on the waiting list and a place does not become available.
Places are confirmed on a first come first served basis based on date of payment. If there are at least 5 paid entries on the waiting list, we may be able to resource an additional coach and rib.
