SUBSCRIPTIONS AND BERTHAGE FOR 1st MARCH 2024 – 28th FEBRUARY 2025

We have a number of membership categories open to new members, to suit sailing members of all ages, "cruising" keelboat and motor boat members (known as berth holder members), and social ("house") members.

Family – covers member and spouse/partner, plus their children under 25 on 1st March in the subscription year. Full dinghy sailing, social and cadet training rights. Discount card. Two votes.

Individual – member only, 25 and over on 1st March in the subscription year. Full dinghy sailing and social rights. Discount card. One vote.

Junior – under 25 on 1st March in the subscription year. Full dinghy sailing and social rights. Discount card. One vote.

Berth Holder (“cruising”) – is per boat. Covers owner(s) and crew. Can join club’s cruising and social activities. No dinghy sailing or berthage rights, no vote. Discount card.

House (and joint house, with partner, who can use the club independently) – ashore activities only, except as a volunteer afloat on LSC activities. No vote. House members may be boat owners, providing their keelboat or motor boat is not in Largs Yacht Haven for any part of the year.

Distance discount – family and individual (only) members living more than 50 miles from LSC may claim a 50% distance discount on subscriptions. (No reduction on berthage.)

Discount card – sailing membersreceive our discount card, which gives up to 10% off many goods and services in LYH and beyond e.g. LYH hoist charges, Largs Chandlers, Saturn Sails etc. Full details here.

Dinghy berthage – our dinghy park is almost full, so please contact the office (see below) to check we have a space for you

Communications – are by e-mail, unless the postal supplement is paid.

Payment methods – various methods are available, including monthly direct debits through GoCardless (only, please – no other payment system works for monthly DD's). Most members can pay by monthly DD, and members are encouraged to do this, to spread their membership costs over the year. DD payments are taken on the first of the month. Members paying by DD must commit to all 12 monthly payments. No payment breaks of less than one year are allowed.

Guests – our licence requires that all guests must be signed in when in the clubhouse. Note that any one guest can only be signed in a maximum of 5 times in the membership year (Mar-Feb).

Some "small print" – by applying for membership, or renewing your membership, you agree to abide by our Club Management Rules (see here), including rules regarding storage of boats or equipment on Club premises, and when racing to have third party insurance to the value of at least £2,000,000.
