To join or Renew Meridian Canoe Club Membership

(1) NEW Junior Memberships: (Aged 8 - 17)

A Parent/Responsible Adult needs to create an account and then add the Junior to their account as a family member. A subscription can then be purchased for the Junior (see below). The adult does not need to become a member, nor pay for a subscription, but must agree to Club Operating policies and make the relevant Declarations needed for Membership. You will need to pay a one-off New Joiner's Fee of £10 in your first year of membership and you will also need to buy an annual subscription. Please choose 'Joining Fee' below and click ONCE only on 'Add to basket'. Then choose the Junior annual subscription and again click once on 'Add to basket'. Then click on 'My basket' at the top right of your screen. You'll be asked to create a password and fill out an online membership form and then to pay for the Joining Fee and subscription together.

(2) NEW Adult Memberships (Aged 18+)

You will need to pay a one-off New Joiner's Fee of £10 in your first year of membership and you will also need to buy an annual subscription.

Please choose 'Joining Fee' below and click ONCE only on 'Add to basket'. Then choose the annual subscription that is right for you (e.g. Adult, Student, Associate) and again click once on 'Add to basket'. Then click on 'My basket' at the top right of your screen. You'll be asked to create a password and fill out an online membership form and then to pay for the Joining Fee and subscription together.

(3) RENEW an existing subscription

As you are (or your child is) already a member you don't need to pay the Joining Fee. Please just choose the annual subscription below that is right for you below, click ONCE only on 'Add to basket', then click on 'My basket' at the top right of your screen. You'll be asked to give your own name (even if you are renewing for your child) and email, and to create a password, or give your password in case you have one already. Then you'll be asked to fill out the online membership form for the person you are buying the subscription for (for either yourself or your child) before you pay. If you are NOT a BC member please pay the fee including the BC Levy

If you have allowed your subscription to lapse for a period but want to rejoin the club, please use the same method as above to rejoin.

If you want to renew for several members of a family, click once on 'Add to basket' for each subscription you want to buy (choosing an 'Additional family member' subscriptions for each family member after the first), then click on 'My basket' at the top right of your screen and follow the instructions. You will need to fill out an online membership form for each member of the family.

If you do not have a personal membership of BC, you need to add the BC Capitation Fee to your basket upon renewal (this is included in the Joining Fee in your first year of membership).

Payment methods

At the end of the sign-up process you can choose to pay online - by Bank Transfer or Direct Debit.

Online payment methods are now preferred due the Covid-19 pandemic.

Fees

All the subscriptions currently available last for 1 year.

Subscribers can use Meridian Canoe Club's equipment and Danson Lake during the publicised club sessions and are welcome to attend Crook Log Pool sessions at Club Member rates.

Associate

For persons whose permanent residence is over 50 miles from Bexleyheath (DA6 8HL) but wish to use Club facilities or attend Club trips from time to time OR are resident in London for a period of 1-4 months. Associate Membership may also be granted (or rescinded) by the consideration of the management committee where circumstances permit. Associate membership will hold no voting rights.

The joining fee shouldn't be paid if the new member is directly related to an existing club member, whom they also live with.

BC Capitation Fee

If you are not a member of the British Canoeing, you must pay the capitation fee for insurance purposes from the second year of joining.

Student

Boat hire - Monthly lake use per boat

Period: 31

Standard subscription £10

Monthly £10 fee, for use of a boat/kayak from the boathouse store or pool container at Danson Park lake.

Max fee £20 per family ie family of three or more only pay £20 per month.

Payable in advance via webcollect: select "2" at checkout.

No hire fee(s) for members in the first year of membership.

Trip boat hire away from the lake per boat

Period: 4

Standard subscription £10

Members wishing to hire boats for trips can do so by making the sum of £10.00 per boat.

This will entitle the hire of a boat(s) for a max of 4 days from the date of collation, from boathouse or Pool container. if this time is exceeded then a further sum of £10.00 should be paid giving the hire a maximum of 8 days.

Payable in advance via webcollect.

These sums apply to all boats stored at either the boat house at the lake or the pool container, being use away from the pool or lake ie river trip.

The boat(swill remain the responsibility of the person that hired the boat(s) until it is returned to either the pool or boat house. Loss or damage of equipment may be charged back to the person that hired the boat(s) and will be down to the discretion of the committee.

Boat hire - single 1 day lake use per boat

Period: 1

Standard subscription £5

Single use £5, per boat for use at Danson Lake, loaning from the boathouse store or pool container fleet

Max fee £10 per family eg family hiring two or more boats only pay £10 in total.

Payable in advance via webcollect: when paying for two or more boats select "2" at check out.

No hire fee(s) for members in the first year of membership.

Boat hire - Yearly lake use per boat

Period: 365

Standard subscription £80

Yearly fee £80, for use of a boat/kayak from the boathouse store or pool container at Danson Park lake.

Fee includes boat away from the lake usage for a year also.

Max fee £200 per family ie family of three or more only pay £200 per year.

Payable in advance via webcollect.

No hire fee(s) for members in the first year of membership.
