All Memberships expire on the 31st December of the year in which they are taken out but, if you are joining in December 2023, membership will run through until December 31st 2024.
If you are a couple or two people both living at the same address one of you will take Full Membership and the other Partner Membership.
If you are buying Membership for someone else or more than one person please purchase Membership in the name of each the member with their details and their email address.

Renew Full Membership
Annual End Date: 31st DecemberA Full Member is a member of the association who is an active beekeeper. This level of membership includes public liability insurance through the BBKA, and bee disease insurance with BDI.
All Memberships run for a calendar year and expire on the 31st December of the year in which they are taken out.
If you are a couple or two people both living at the same address one of you will take Full Membership and the other Partner Membership.
Junior Membership
Annual End Date: 31st DecemberAge between 10 and 18 years, with no right to vote at General Meetings and only handles bees under the supervision of their parent or guardian who is a Full Beekeeping Member. No affiliation to British Beekeepers Association. Can attend course if accompanied by adult member also attending course.
Additional Hive Insurance
Annual End Date: 31st DecemberBee Disease Insurance (BDI) covers the insured for the statutory destruction of bees, honey and equipment only for American or European foul brood. Beekeeping memberships include cover for up to 3 colonies. Further colonies can be insured by adding the correct item below to your basket.
Please note, for insurance to be valid, all colonies owned by the beekeeper must be insured with BDI. BDI is valid from the 1st January of the year in which the subscription is paid to 31st December of that year, but BDI paid after 1 March only comes into force 40 days after payment is received, since your NLB membership will have lapsed.
Partner Members are no longer insured for BDI which is why their subscriptions have been reduced by £2 since 2013.
NEW MEMBERS ONLY- Full Subscription

Partner Membership
Annual End Date: 31st DecemberAn individual beekeeper, minimum age 18 years, resident at the same address as a Full Beekeeping Member, including Partner Membership of the BBKA, sharing one copy of communications sent to that address and no right to vote at General Meetings. A Full Beekeeping Member may have any number of (separate, qualifying) Partner Members associated with his/her membership at the same address.
Associate
Annual End Date: 31st DecemberAssociate Member, does not keep bees and has no right to vote at General Meetings, and no affiliation to the British Beekeepers Association. Please note that Associate members will not receive the BBKA magazine. This class of membership is most suitable for Full members of other associations who also want to be members of NLBK.
