The OCA Events Committee kindly invite you to join them for a great weekend of open canoe adventure based at the Okehampton YHA on the Northern edge of the great Dartmoor National Park!  previous years have been a great success so we are doing it all again!

Cost: £100pp 

This is a members only event.

Please note that as part of the booking process you will be asked to sign up to a new Covid 19 Protcol which is there to protect us all.  It remains under constant review as health and Government advice dictates. 

Includes bunkhouse style accommodation with no more than two people to a room for Friday & Saturday nights. It will be possible to request a room share, please e mail Paulette Hills with your request once you have booked your space.

Included in the price is breakfast Saturday and Sunday mornings and dinner Saturday evening.  Vegetarian option available, menus will be circulated nearer the time.

You’ll need to provide your own lunches.

The YHA is convenient for many top class canoeing locations including: -

The Adventurous Teign (tricky G2)

The Classic Middle Tavy (G2 with one G3 rapid)

The Walkham with it’s Super Slot (Narrow G2 with G3 drop)

The Tamar with its weirs and boulders (G2)

The Torridge and Taw with Tarka the Otter (easy G2)

So plenty of choice depending on the conditions!  If for some unlikely reason we cannot go canoeing, There is excellent walking and biking direct from the Hostel. 

Qualified leaders will be on hand to lead small groups at various locations depending on conditions.

Please make sure you are capable of paddling at the grade and have all the correct equipment.
