Lower Wharfe Canoe club is a family orientated club, with a base at Tadcaster Community Swimming Pool, and Bishopthorpe on the River Ouse. We have a wide range of members aged eight to  eighty who enjoy the sports of canoeing and kayaking.

We are a friendly welcoming club that run many water and non-water based events that are well attended. The club has a large number of both adults and children who enjoy the sport and develop their skills onto faster moving water, canoe polo and into high level competitions through the slalom section, with our most successful paddlers going on to compete for Great Britain at international events.

The club is open to all abilities (as long as you can swim 25m) and it is a great place to come along and have a go at a new activity.  If anyone wishes to kayak but are unable to swim 25m due to any disability we can arrange for appropriate safety measures to be put in place. We can only take 8+ year olds on the river sessions, but we do have an U8 session once a monthe at the pool in the winter.
