Now you can make your dream a reality!

As a member of the Square Rigger Club Charity you will have an opportunity to sail aboard the Sea Cadets flagship TS Royalist up to twice a year while your subscription helps Sea Cadets to develop character building skills through offshore sailing.

TS Royalist is a 32 metre brig launched in 2014 as successor to a previous ship of the same name. She entered service with the Marine Society and Sea Cadets in 2015. Almost every week of the year 24 cadets from all over the UK join the ship and spend a week on board working as part of the crew. TS Royalist visits many different parts of the UK & France, sailing from her home berth in Gosport to Southampton, Poole, Cherbourg, St Helier, Brest and the Isle of Wight.

There are 8 permanent members of crew who instruct the cadets also carry out maintenance and the winter refit. These are the Captain, Sailing Master, Engineer, Coxswain, Boatswain, Cook and 2 Watch Officers (adult supervisors). For longer trips such as the tall ships races there is also a third watch keeper.

The Square Rigger Club Charity supports TS Royalist and the Sea Cadets who sail in her. Many cadets need financial help to achieve their ambition of sailing offshore in TS Royalist and the Square Rigger Club Charity provides bursaries and items of equipment for the ship. In recognition of the work the charity does, and in order to raise funds, it is given the opportunity to organise two long weekend voyages each year for members to enjoy excitement and comradeship sailing a modern square rigged ship.
