The purpose of the Vancouver Yachts Association (VYA) is to promote friendship and contact amongst owners of Vancouver yachts and to encourage the sharing of information and cruising experience and the preservation of existing Vancouver yachts.

The Association is non-commercial and is independent of any other organisation. Administration is kept as simple as possible, the Association having three honorary officers - a chairman, secretary and treasurer.

Association activities include an Annual Owners' Dinner in the autumn and an Annual Fitting Out Dinner in spring. Rallies and other informal gatherings are co-ordinated by a number of Regional representatives. A Journal is published annually for members in March/April and members are encouraged to submit contributions on any aspect of sailing with Vancouvers, including technical notes as well as their voyage and cruising experiences.
