North Wales Trip   iCal entry for this event

Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd October 2017

We are running a trip to North Wales from 6pm on Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd October 2017 staying at the RYG bunkhouse near Bala on Friday & Saturday evening.  On the Saturday we are planning to paddle a Grade 2/3 section of a local river or the lower section of the Tryweryn from the National Whitewater Centre at Frongoch down to Bala.   On the Sunday we will either paddle some short Grade 2 / 3 sections of the Lower Tryweryn or the River Dee at Llangollen.  We will be travelling by minibus / private cars and the trip includes food from Saturday cooked breakfast to Sunday packed lunch, launch fees, bunkhouse, petrol and minibus hire, equipment and coaching.  We can provide kayaks, paddles, wetsuits, spray decks, cagoules and helmets.  The cost is £90 for club members, £120 for non-members.  This includes an access fee payable to Canolfan Tryweryn or Mile End Mill.

The trip is open to good Two Star paddlers, 3 Star trainees and above and is being used as an assessment trip for some of our 4 Star trainees.  You should find this challenging but within your ability.  We will split up into small groups and have planned that each group will practice moving water skills on the rapids.  All activities are very dependent on weather and river conditions and we cannot guarantee that we paddle or use the advertised rivers.
