Welcome to SEW HGPGC

Key to the hills...

All Gate keys

Always lock the gates behind you, and do not let anyone in that you won't be around to let out!It takes a lot of work to manage the locks and if they get changed then there will be more hassle and expense to gain access back.

I’m afraid, inevitably, SEWHGPGC have a few rules that we require key holder members to agree to:

  1. That the key holder will not attempt to make a copy of the keys.
  2. That the key holder will not lend the key to anyone other than a bona fide member of SEWHGPGC without the written permission of a committee member.
  3. If the key is lost, then the club committee must be notified of the circumstances as soon as possible.
  4. The keys are leased to you for the duration of your membership of SEWHGPGC. If you choose not to renew your membership the key must be returned to the club committee immediately and you will be reimbursed the current fee for the keys.

It will be taken that you agree to these rules unless you notify the committee and return the keys.

Nantymoel key

This is a high security key which is why they are so expensive! The gate at Nantymoel has two locks on it. Our lock is on the inside gate post and cannot be seen so you have to put your hand up inside the post to unlock it by feel. The reason the keys have been cut down is because space is tight and it is a bit fiddly to unlock, but it doesn’t take long to get the hang of it.

Please never leave the gate unlocked. We may lose the right to use the track if the farmer finds the gate unlocked. The track is usually suitable for any type of vehicle and is on private land. Please do not block the track and please drive slowly and carefully. Livestock freely roam over the land and the surface is loose gravel. Use of the track is at your own risk. SEWHGPGC will not accept any liability for your vehicle while using the track or when parked.

Blorenge key

Another high security key. The Blorenge track is rough and rutted and is only suitable for 4wd vehicles with good ground clearance and tyres with good grip. It is not unusual for vehicles to get stuck when it has been raining. Never leave the gate unlocked. Use of the track is strictly limited to driving up to the parking area by the hut and back. Park away from the edge of the bowl and well away from the usual landing areas. Use of the track is at your own risk. SEWHGPGC will not accept any liability for your vehicle while using the track or when parked.
