Coaching
The Coaching sessions are intended to help improve dinghy sailing skills in a developing environment and, thereby, raise confidence levels. Hopefully, this will lead to more enjoyment and higher levels of participation in Club events. Many Club members, particularly recent trainees and those who have not sailed for some time, avoid helming in Club races because they feel too inexperienced or too "rusty". Whether you feel confident or not, join in and get the most out of these Coaching sessions. They are open to all members.
For more information and the programme of Coaching sessions, go to the Club website's Coaching page (here).
Practice Sailing
Subject to adequate support and not conflicting with formal Training, Practice Sailing sessions will be available from 18:30 to 20:00 on Tuesday evenings from early June to the end of August and from 11:00 to 12:30 on Saturday mornings during July and August. Precise dates and times are published in the Practice Sailing Programme.
Although aimed primarily at Cadets and Novices, this will provide an opportunity for anyone that fancies going for a gentle sail with Patrol Boat cover and, if required and available, guidance from experienced sailors or qualified instructors.
Club Boats are available for these sessions subject to the normal rules on a first-come-first-served-basis (or pre-booking), but formal Training will always have priority.
If you would like to volunteer to help with these sessions, please volunteer via the Duty Roster.
