The Seafarers Sailing Club is an RYA Training Centre.
The Seafarers Training Team carry out dinghy sailing training for Club members only. All the instructors are volunteers and all courses are run outside of normal working hours. This allows us to make the training very cost effective. Training is concentrated on novice and improving sailing courses, but the courses are also suitable for sailors that just require a refresher.
Courses
The courses that the Club runs are:
- RYA Start Sailing & Basic Skills (Youth Sailing Level 1 - 4)
- RYA Start Sailing & Basic Skills (Level 1 & 2)
- RYA Better Sailing (Level 3)
- RYA Start Racing
- RYA Seamanship Skills
We usually run two RYA Start Sailing and Basic Skills courses
The Course - is run over a Friday evening, whole weekend and 4 following evenings at the end of June.
The RYA Start Racing or RYA Level 3 courses are aimed at members who have at least 1 full season’s sailing experience after completion of a Level 2 course or equivalent and would like to start/improve their sailing/racing techniques. The course will consist of theory and practical sessions and will take place over a Friday evening and weekend in April
Occasionally RYA Day Sailing or RYA Seamanship may be run if required and requested by a number of club members.
The RYA Power Boat Level 2 course is also run for club members that are required to carry out Patrol Boat Duties and other essential sailing support roles only.
