Kippford Week and RNLI Regatta
Solway Yacht Club invites you to join us for our annual Kippford Week and Regatta, offering wonderful sailing in a great environment and in a setting of outstanding natural beauty. Kippford Week is a family friendly series providing competitive racing and after racing social events. It attracts regular competitors from all over Scotland, England and frequently beyond.
There are plenty hotels and boarding houses within easy walking or motoring distance as well as caravan, camping and holiday chalets nearby but early reservations are advised.
There is a comprehensive social programme in place for the week. The clubhouse is a large and comfortable building looking out over the boat park, the River Urr and the hills beyond. Kippford is a popular holiday destination for good reason.
There is some serious sailing out on the water but all levels of experience are catered for including novices. The sailing area allows for interesting courses, not just up and down the same track every day. It's a coastal location with decent winds and tides to add to the interest, However, it's an estuary and thus suitable for sailors of all ages.
Hot and cold catering will be available on all race days before racing, after racing or both depending on the race times. The Club is fully licensed and competitors and visiting members will be elected Honorary Members for the duration of their stay.
