RYA Power Boat Level 2 (Public) 2017   iCal entry for this event

Tynemouth Sailing Club [TSC] will be running an RYA Power Boat Level 2.

There are no pre-requisites for this course other than age.  The course is suitable for complete novices.

There is not a test at the end of the course. The students are continually taught and assessed throughout to the required RYA standards. On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded the RYA Level 2 certificate.

Our instructors will make every effort to ensure you have a fun and relaxed time in the boat – and most importantly help you to pass the course.

Risk Statement

Tynemouth Sailing Club is a Royal Yachting Association Recognised Training Centre and is externally inspected annually. It is also licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Service. Your training session will be supervised by an RYA qualified Powerboat Instructor and your skipper will be a qualified instructor or sailor of equivalent expertise.

Powerboating has the obvious hazards of taking place on deep cold water and the hazard of a rotating propeller. It can also place stress on the body, especially the spine. TSC has documented Risk Assessments and Operating Procedures to keep you as safe as possible and you will be taught the control measures to minimise powerboating risks as part of the course

Insurance

TSC is insured under a policy which meets RYA Club Insurance requirements including Sail Training Indemnity. TSC, TSC Volunteers, RYA Coaches, RYA Senior instructors or RYA Instructors do not accept responsibility for any loss, damage or injury suffered by persons and/or their property arising out of or during the course of their activities whilst training and/or coaching and/or instructing unless such injury loss or damage was caused by, or resulted from negligence or deliberate act.
