Sailing has everything, from being a sociable relaxing experience to a high adrenaline, high action sport. Experience the adrenaline buzz of flying across the water in a small dinghy.
Sailing is also one of Britain’s most successful Olympic medal winning sports and one of the most accessible sports for people with a disability.
Push the Boat Out will provide you with the perfect opportunity to find out what Tynemouth Sailing Club has to offer. If you wish to go for a sail on the 20th of May we can arrange this for £5 a person, this covers fuels for safety boats etc. Please choose an available slot at the bottom of this page.
Alternatively you can come to speak to us during the day at any time - we don't charge for a chat about sailing.
Sailing Details
When: Please arrive on time for your scheduled session so we can get you changed and briefed about the session. Arriving on time ensures you spend more time on the water.
Where Tynemouth Sailing Club ; the club is at Prior’s Haven just inside the North Pier at Tynemouth. Post Code location is NE30 4DD. There is some parking at the club or at the adjacent Spanish Battery public car park.
The Metro is within walking distance and the No 306 bus stops at the Castle/Priory.
Clothing See attached sheet. We do not recommend that you buy any clothing at this stage.
Safety A safety boat will be present at all times. The RYA Instructors hold first aid certificates.
Age Restrictions This session is primarily for adults.

Risk Statement
Tynemouth Sailing Club is a Royal Yachting Association Recognised Training Centre and is externally inspected annually. It is also licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Service. Your Push The Boat Out “taster” session will be supervised by an RYA qualified Senior Instructor and your skipper will be a qualified instructor or sailor of equivalent expertise.
Sailing is a safe sport but has the obvious hazards of deep cold water , at Tynemouth nearby rocks and pier and the moving parts of a boat. TSC has documented Risk Assessments and Operating Proceedures to keep you as safe as possible and a Safety Boat will be in attendance.
