All members have full use of the Welsh Harp Sailing Club and WHSA facilities, subject to the WHSC constitution, club rules, policies and procedures and the WHSA bye-laws, which can be found on the club website, as well as a test of competence as applicable.
Your membership starts from the day you apply to become a member of the club and not the day you may have had a taster session. A taster session enrols you as a temporary member for that day only.
After you have applied for membership your name will be added to a list of prospective members displayed in the club house. You will remain a prospective member until your application is considered by a meeting of the club committee.
Taster sessions
If you have had and paid for a taster session, or two, you need to enter the date of the session on the membership form and subtract the taster fee from the subscription fee when you pay by adding taster sessions to your basket. All new members are now entitled to two taster sessions. Make sure that you put the dates of the tasters on the form when asked.
Membership Classes
Standard: Age 26 or over on 1st April 2024. Has one vote at general meetings
Family: Is open to a couple, or a carer or carers with child(ren) up to and including age 17 on 1st April 2024, who all reside at the same address. The family has one vote at general meetings which may be exercised by a member aged 18 or over.
Senior: Age 65 or over on 1st April 2024. Has one vote at general meetings.
Concession: Aged 18 or over and under 26 on 1 April, student or unwaged/disabled at the discretion of the membership secretary. Must show proof. Please bring a copy of documentation to the club. Has one vote at general meetings.
Junior: Age 8 to 17 on 1st April 2024. Does not have a vote at general meetings.
Social: Does not sail, or have a boat/board licence. Does not have a vote at general meetings.
Associate: Is a full member of another constituent body of the WHSA. Does not have the right to use Club equipment. Does not have a vote at general meetings.
Boat and board licences
If you wish to berth a boat or board on site you should discuss this with the WHSC berthmaster at berthmaster@welshharpsailingclub.org before paying for a licence. Only certain classes of boat are eligible to be berthed at the Welsh Harp and others may not be allowed or only with special permission.

Trailer licence

The subscriptions page will only show the current membership fees. There are early payment fees from 1st January to 31st March, standard fees from 1st April to 31st July, late summer fees from 1st August to - mid September and winter fees from October. The different fees for times of year are shown on the main website. All subscription periods end on 31st March.
WHSC prefers payment by bank transfer if possible. The other options are PayPal, for which the club pays 3.5% to PayPal, cheque and cash.

An associate member is not able to use club sailing or windsurfing equipment.
