Webinar Details:
The pandemic has shone a light, long overdue, on the crucial importance of creating compassionate and supportive cultures in healthcare settings for patients and staff. These are being recognized as integral to the delivery of high quality clinical care, rather than an added extra, and clinical psychologists have been called upon to deliver support to colleagues in rapidly changing and extreme conditions. The large and lively inaugural meeting of our Staff Health and Wellbeing Network on January 19th showed clearly how much skilled and innovative work is going on in this area across the four nations. This webinar will showcase a range of current staff support interventions for individuals, teams and services, and is likely to be the first in a series.
There will be 5-6 presentations helping participants get inside the intervention from a practice point of view, making links to theory and relevant research, and highlighting questions and dilemmas. There will be time for questions at the end of each presentation and in a final plenary session.
Confirmed speakers are as follows:
Chairs/discussants: Matt Hotton & Arabella Kurtz
‘One-to-one support: what is the different between support and therapy?’ Penelope Cream & Arabella Kurtz
‘Supporting teams in changing times, and building on what has been achieved’ Sue Llewelyn
‘The Open Dialogue approach to staff support: a service-wide perspective’ Lisa Monaghan
‘ACT approaches to staff support’ Sarah Swan
‘Supporting groups of staff after difficult events’ Sadie Thomas-Unsworth & Harriet Conniff
