In 2025 we will run this course over either 4 evenings at Loch of Skene or over a weekend in wayfarer dinghies at Peterhead.
We will follow the RYA Level 1 Start Sailing syllabus, including rigging, learning all the points of sailing, tacking & gybing, plus all the basics you need to begin your understanding of sailing. The syllabus is available in the logbooks which are provided to go along with the course. We'd recommend you follow up with a RYA Level 2 Basic Skills Course to grow your confidence.
Please note, if the dates don't suit, we may be able to put on a course for you with dates to suit as long as we have a minimum of two people interested.
Best for anyone aged 14+. The course length is two days or the equivalent in evenings.
On successful completion of your course, your name, certificate number and date of completion will be stored for up to 7 years. This information allows us to verify or replace your certificate if required.
A RYA Logbook is included which contains the course syllabus. Max instructor / student ratio is 1:3.
