Leckhampton Scrub Clearance
No Booking Required.
As some of you may know, the take off and top landing area at Leckhampton has quite a lot of gorse and other scrub growing on it. It is nominally a site looked after by the Malvern Club and from time to time we organise a scrub clearing event.
FOLK (Friends of Leckhampton Hill and Charlton Kings Common) are a group of volunteers who hold regular work parties on Leckhampton Hill and liaise closely with Cheltenham Borough Council who own the land.
We are organising a joint scrub clearing session with them on the morning of Sunday 26th January, with the specific aim of clearing gorse and scrub which interferes with our paragliding activities.
The more volunteers that we get on the day, the greater the area that we can clear and the easier it is for individuals.
So if you fly Leckhampton and would like to contribute to the upkeep of the Site, we would be extremely grateful if you are able to come along for the morning and lend a hand.
We are planning to have a drink together at the Norwood Arms (on Leckhampton Road) afterwards and the Malvern Club will dip into their funds to buy all helping pilots a drink.
Details of exact timings and meeting place etc to follow nearer the day.
