PBL2 - Boat Handling
Description: The recognised minimum standard for powerboat skippers.
Duration: 2 days
Entry requirements: None
Suitable for ages 12 and upwards.
Course components: launch and recovery, close quarter boat handling, planing speed manoeuvres, man overboard recovery, and collision regulations.
The course fee includes RYA Certificate and registration and a personal copy of the RYA Start Powerboating book. Awarding of the PB2 certificate is subject to you demonstrating a suitable standard of seamanship throughout the course. Whilst it is extremely rare for someone to fail, we are obliged to maintain the standards set by the RYA and a pass is not guaranteed.
Please note that the fee includes a £50 deposit element which is non-refundable. We have reluctantly had to introduce this because of a number of last minute cancellations which left us out of pocket. Please make sure you are able to attend all of the course dates before booking.
The member rates are for members of Blackpool and Fleetwood Yacht Club.
Whilst this is a RYA accredited course, you do not need to be a member of the RYA to participate.
