Visit to Lockerley Estate

Location: Queenwood Farm Queenswood, Stockbridge SO20 8DF.
About this Event: Lockerley Estate is part of a 2,300 hectare regenerative farm in Hampshire where in their words “ biodiversity, soil and community come first.” We will enjoy a tour of the farm and hear from the team how regenerative farming is transforming the estate. Inputs have been reduced, biodiversity increased and soil organic matter has been raised. During the visit we will hear how as a primarily arable enterprise they are integrating livestock into the system, see the farm’s composting unit, visit the Market Garden and Shop, now run by Hampshire Market Garden CIC, discuss their woodland management (and deer of course!), and hear how CS and SFI is used to support the business and biodiversity. The estate has also embarked on a wilding journey on 27 ha of grassland with a plan to extend over a larger area.
Please allow the whole day. Lunch will be provided and booking is essential.
