Instructor Inclusive Paddle Training
SUP Active Yorkshire will be running a free event for SUP Instructors to enable them to adapt their training for those with additional needs.
The day will consist of an introduction to Paddle Ability theory and a practical session in the morning. This will give a Paddle Uk Coach/ Leader CPD points. This is followed by setting up a session for clients from Bethphage who will pre-book and supply any pertinent information and requirements.
All Timing approximate:
0900 - 12:30pm Paddle UK Paddle Ability: By the end of the workshop, you should feel more confident in adapting your practice to be more inclusive and have more ideas in your 'toolbox' for making simple adaptions. The session will include disability awareness training, following Paddle UK's syllabus. This is worth 10 CPD points for paddle coaches and Leaders this will include time spent looking at simple and affordable kit that can transform someone's experience on the water and also some other options for adaptive kit.
12:30 -1:30 pm Set Up for booked-in participants and organisation visitors.
1:30 - 3:30 pm Session will need to have enough for at least 121 support from club coaches or leaders confirming who is coming before event.
