RYA Powerboat Level 2
This RYA Powerboat Level 2 Course is available to all members of Chelmarsh Sailing Club, associate organisations (Including the three local Rowing Clubs) and non-members of Chelmarsh Sailing Club provided they are members of other RYA affiliated clubs. The course is taught using the club powerboats, console and tiller steer Jaffa (rescue/teaching boats) by RYA Qualified Instructors.
The course is designed for those with no prior powerboat experience.
The course is two days in duration with a maximum of 3 students per instructor and covers the RYA Power Boat Level 2 Syllabus. The RYA Powerboat Handbook will be provided to all students and students who successfully complete the course will receive a Powerboat Level 2 Certificate which will enable them to drive the club powerboats and is recognised externally to hire powerboats at other locations. The course will cover powerboat safety, close quarter boat handling, planing manoeuvres, man overboard recovery, basic powerboat theory and collision regulations. On completion, students should be able to handle a powerboat in familiar waters by day.
