POWERBOAT HANDLING LEVEL 2

Cost £210 per person

 

This two-day entry level course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence (ICC).

It focuses on low speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed and collision regulations. The course can be taken at an inland or a coastal location.

Assumed knowledgeNone. May be preceded by Level 1 Start Powerboating
Minimum duration2 days
Minimum age12 (certificates are endorsed until 16)
Course ContentLaunching and recovery, boat handling, securing to a buoy, anchoring, leaving and coming alongside, man overboard
Ability after the courseSelf-sufficient powerboater in the right conditions, aware of own limitations and those of craft

 

Please note that we require a minimum of 2 persons per course. Should this not be achieved then we would look to reschedule the course. Charges are only refundable in the following circumstances: 

  1. DYC has to cancel the course and the alternative date offered is not suitable
  2. Candidate withdraws giving a minimum of 14 days written notice before the course starts.
  3. Candidate withdraws less than 14 days before the course and we can fill the place.
