Long Distance Weekend - 2 day  

It does what is says on the tin.... Our Long Distance Open takes on the full length of the lake (wind permitting) from the club house down to past the weather station.

Previously we had a Nacra F18 putting in 4 laps in just over 3 hours up against a Drascombe Lugger putting in a 1 hr 45 min single lap and every combination in-between. Such is the diversity of this event!

Last year was dominated by the K1's holding a class open with us. I wonder what this year will turn up?

Provisional plan is as follows:

2 Day Event

Long Distance Racing the full length of the lake

1pm Start on Saturday (4hrs), 11am Start on Sunday (3 hrs)

Bar and food on Saturday evening

Two classes - Standard time limited Handicap for mixed fleet and capped 1 lap for cruisers and day boats

# note ~ less experience distance racing helms / crews who wish to develop their experience of this type of event may apply for the cruiser/dayboat class in other boat types to complete a capped 1 lap race. These will be accepted at the RCO discretion
