RYA Wing Foiling - Wing Surf/ Wing Foil
The latest wind powered sport has arrived in the Dyfi. Fancy learning a brand new sport, transferring your skills from another wind sport, trying something completely new or had a go yourself and need some guidance, your in the right place.
We offer RYA courses and 1:1 sessions run by RYA instructors, all can be own kit tuition or use DYC/CHD Duotone/Gong kit.

RYA Introduction to Wing Surf - up to 4 hours = £100 DYC/CHD Members £115 Non members, minimum of 2 people needed for the course to run
An introductory course, providing a basic introduction to winging. This course is split into two parts; flying the wing ashore, and getting afloat. Together these sessions provide the fundamentals of wing control, translating its power into forward momentum and steering, whilst reinforcing the core skills of board balance to enable you to travel across the wind a short distance, gybe and return to starting point
Having achieved these skills ashore, you will progress to using a board such as a windsurfer (with centreboard) or WindSUP. You will be able to launch and land safely, sailing across the wind, steering towards and away from the wind, and carrying out a basic gybe
RYA Improve your Wing Surf - up to 4 hours = £100 DYC/CHD Members £115 Non members, minimum of 2 people needed for the course to run
This course concentrates on building confidence and enhancing the skills learnt in the Learn to Wingsurf course, enabling students make progress and hold ground upwind, as well as improve tacking and gybing transitions. This course is a fundamental stepping stone to being able to progress onto Wingfoiling.
RYA Wing Foiling - First Flights 8-10 hours, delivered over a number of sessions, 4 hour session = £135 DYC/CHD members £150 Non-Members, minimum of 2 people needed for the course to run
Wing skills to the standard of Improve your Wingsurfing, (experience foiling in a similar foiling discipline may be accepted by the centre)
Progress the pre-learnt skills of Wingsurfing, taking them to the next level and learning to wingfoil. This course will assist you in understanding and achieving your first flights in both directions and gaining the knowledge to increase flight time.
At the end of this course you will be able to setup, launch and recover wingfoiling equipment safely, making your first take offs and short flights on the foil. Improving your knowledge and understanding of equipment available and opportunities for continuing, including the next wing-foiling progression of sustaining flight.
RYA Wing Foiling - Sustained Flights 8-10 hours, delivered over a number of sessions, 1 4 hour session session = £135 DYC/CHD members £150 Non-Members, minimum of 2 people needed for the course to run
Advance your skills and foiling knowledge to achieve longer, sustained flights, holding ground upwind and downwind on the foil and working on gybing entries from a foiling position.
By the end of the sustained flights course you will have an increase knowledge of how foils work, improved skill level enabling you to enjoy longer foiling flights, make effective ground up and downwind, and progressing on to entering a gybe from a foiling position, in a variety of conditions.
1:1 session, each session up to 4 hours, 1 Session = £200 DYC/CHD members, £220 Non members
Want to get 1:1 attention to master the skills quicker, struggling with something in particular or know you would benefit from some extra time with an instructor these can be on wing surf or wing foil or a combination.
Please note: All the above can be on own kit or DYC kit as long as own kit is deemed fit for purpose by DYC instructor. If using your own kit you need to accept your own personal liability to any damage or breakage to your own kit that may happen in an unlikely accident.
The course fee includes temporary membership if you are not already a member of DYC. To ensure a place on a course, please pay using either bank transfer, online direct debit or PayPal. If you pay with cheque or cash, your place will only be confirmed once your payment has been received by DYC.
