VHF -Short range radio licence-RYA
The RYA course teaches you the basics of radio operation, frequencies, distress, emergency and medical assistance procedures, making ship to shore telephone calls, Digital Selective Calling, Global Maritime Distress Safety System. It is both a practical and theory course.
The first day is all training in the classroom, the second starts as more training then followed by a practical exam using practice radios and a theory paper. We find the second morning a great chance to refresh any skills and ask any questions before the exam.
There is a minimum of 4 people for the course to run.We will advise if this is a problem and suggest future dates.
The cost price does not include a £70 exam fee which is payable straight to the RYA and needed before the course.
