The RYA (Royal Yachting Association) is the UK’s national governing body for all forms of boating. It has the aim of providing the world’s best recreational and professional boat training schemes.
Earlswood Lakes Sailing Club is an accredited RYA training centre, inspected annually to ensure that we continue to deliver training that meets the RYA’s exacting standards. We concentrate on introducing newcomers to our much loved sport/hobby of sailing so our training programme is focused on teaching beginners the basic skills needed to sail and then helping and encouraging them to develop and use their skills as they gain experience. Those attending one of our courses are gifted club membership to the end of the club year, May 31st 2025, giving access to our club boats which are available to hire with rates of £8 - £15 depending on the dinghy type hired and the duration of hire. The cost of the course also includes 5 Club Boat Hire vouchers..
We run at least two Start Sailing Courses each year for beginners, both adults and juniors. This course is designed by the RYA to introduce you to sailing with all you need to know to get afloat under supervision. It runs over a weekend with 16 hours of tuition, most of which is on the water. These take place in spring or early summer to give plenty of time to practise skills during the warmer months.
Successful completion of all the courses is rewarded with a certificate and a logbook so you can track your progress as you develop your skill and enthusiasm.
You are purchasing a place on the JUNIOR RYA "start sailing" course at Earlswood Lakes Sailing Club.
You will be required to attend on both days in order to complete the course.
