Beginners Sea Kayaking

This course runs for 5 weeks, set 1 will be on a Tuesday evening, watch this space for further sets. Aimed at those who would like to acquire touring specific skills or transfer skills they have learnt in a short kayak to a long kayak. No previous experience in sea kayaks is required.

Skills that will be covered are

How to choose the best sea kayak for you, and how to operate it eg foot pegs, skegs
Efficient forward paddling
Turning a sea kayak
Moving a sea kayak sideways
Preventing a capsize
Rescues (we will choose warm weather but you will definitely get wet)
Theory: kit, group awareness, environmental hazards

Minimum number for course to run is 4 people
