Membership includes full access to downloadable electronic editions of the peer-reviewed journal Historical Metallurgy and the news magazine The Crucible, each published twice a year. The Crucible is not peer reviewed.
Concessionary members pay a reduced annual subscription fee and are persons under 18 years or over 65 years of age, or are persons of any age who are bona fide students to the satisfaction of the Council.
A Patron is a member who pays extra to support the Open Access project. This project provides a full accessible on-line publication platform without charge to authors.Patron membership automatically includes hard-copy newsletter and journal if desired.

Renewing Concessionary membership
Period: 365Concessionary members are persons under 18 years or over 65 years of age, and pay the reduced annual subscription fee of £5/year. They have full access to on-line publications which includes the peer-reviewed journal Historical Metallurgy and the news magazine The Crucible, each published twice a year. The Crucible is not peer reviewed.
Where the member opts to receive hard copy versions of both the journal and the newsletter, the annual subscription fee is £25/year.
Where the member opts to receive either the journal or the newsletter in hard copy the annual subscription fee is £15/ year.
A three-year subscription rate is available at three times the annual rate.
New concessionary membership

Where a member opts to receive hard copy version of both the journal and the news magazine, the annual subscription fee is £35.
Where a member opts to receive either the journal or the magazine as hard copy, the annual subscription is £27.50.
A three-year subscription rate is available at three times the annual rate.

The £10 basic subscription includes access to electronic editions of the peer reviewed HMS Journal and the magazine/newsletter, The Crucible, which is not peer-reviewed.
