Pool Sessions
Each winter the club runs subsidised pool sessions in the competition pool at the Inverness Aquadome on Friday nights from January until March. This gives members the chance to learn new skills, consolidate existing techniques, experiment and have fun in a warm, safe environment.
CURRENTLY trialing booking through SPOND
What are the pool sessions?
Kids/U16 Sessions – in the middle lane;
- It’s pool sessions for the non-adult, they get to play have fun and learn how to use a kayak, maybe even roll. Same as the adults but they always look like they are having more fun!
We can only offer 8 slots so book’em while you can! They go quick.
Slots are weekly bookable but feel free to book several weeks at once (saves filling in the EME forms again and again and again)
Adult General or Beginners Coached group – shallow section;
- Want to work on anything or everything?
- Maybe you are complete beginner and fancied giving it a go?
- You actually do want to roll but you’re just super busy/work shifts and so can't commit to the 4 week rolling block? This one is for you…
- Weekly booking, possibly different coaches each week, working in groups of 2 people to 1 coach with individual boats.
- We’ve changed up the sessions this year so there are only 4 slots available for the group! Grab them fast.
Adult & Teen uncoached group - Deep End.
- We didn’t drop it, if you just want to come along and have a wee play with your mates, or just you on your tod. This is the slot for you!
- WEE proviso, Teens should have previously been agreed for unsupervised booking place, if you're unsure please get in touch before booking a U16 slot in the uncoached area.
SEA KAYAK – Rolling Session
- Oh yes, we're doing it again, we are planning to run Sea Kayak sessions in the pool. You will actually get to play in those lovely long boats instead of the ickle river folk style.
What time?
- Paddler session; 9pm to 10pm
- Remember you need to grab a boat, spray deck and paddle before meeting the coach at poolside, to be ready to get in the water at 9pm.
- So if you can aim to be at the pool for 830-845pm it's easier to get organised.
- If you’re running late, no stress, ping us a message if you can, we can leave boats out if we know you’re still coming.
Slight Change to Timings ... for the below option
Adult rolling group - in the shallow section; New Layout, New Time = More Slots
- Need help finishing that roll off? Never learnt but always fancied trying?
- If you’ve already got some paddle basics and want to spend some time practicing the roll, this is the one for you.
- Timing starts at 830-9pm for coaching and then 9-10pm you and your buddy head off into the deep end for practice.
How to I book?
- Book; Via SPOND - all details are on there.
Look Forward to seeing you all at the pool!
