Midland Area Championships 2021  

Saturday 18th September 2021 - South Staffs Sailing Club

Event Information

There are prizes for the overall Midlands Area Champion, the Junior (12 and under) champion and Rising Stars (aka Regatta fleet). There will also be awards to recognise good examples of the British Youth Sailing Values and Behaviours. We look forward to welcoming some new faces!

There will be 4 races for the main fleet with two in the morning back to back, ashore for lunch and then two races in the afternoon. Regatta fleet will do at least 3 races but may have more breaks between races and timing will depend on conditions on the day. The competitor briefing will be at 10.30am with the first race at 11am.

Camping

Campervan parking is available overnight before the event - please contact Andy Hateley, of SSSC to book in advance on 07852 949904 or juniors@southstaffssailingclub.co.uk. 

Coaching

There will be an official coach who will provide encouragement and support to the back few sailors in the regatta fleet during races.   

Catering (Updated)

In addition to takeaway drinks and snacks service throughout the day there will be bacon baps available on arrival and a hot lunch (pasta pake / hot dogs or similar). Please help us plan numbers by indicating if you would like hot lunch on the entry form.

South Staffs Sailing Club is located at Gailey Lea Lane, Gailey, Staffordshire, ST19 5PT. Please drive past the gate behind the clubhouse, past the boat park to the gate at the far end of the parking field. 

Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions - Update 13-09-2021

Notice of Race updated and Sailing Instructions published. In addition to the usual main fleet and regatta fleet (who will share and course and start) we will also be running a "Fun Fleet" who will have a much smaller course close to the shore by the clubhouse. 

Organising Authority

The Organising Authority for this event is South Staffordshire Sailing Club ("SSSC"). IOCA Midlands will act as an agent of SSSC in administering entries and managing data (through this web page) and collecting entry fees through online banking (which will be passed on to SSSC). IOCAs GDPR and Data Protection policies are published here.
