By the end of the course, participants demonstrating themselves to be able to provide safety or support cover to a range of craft, particularly sailing or windsurfing craft, will be issued with a RYA Safety Boat Certificate.

Participants must be at least 16 years old to join this Course, should have a basic understanding of sailing boats and/or windsurfers, and must hold an RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate, with a considerable amount of experience in handling powerboats over a period of at least 1 year.

The Course will take place at LBSC’s modern and spacious clubhouse, with changing rooms, a fully-equipped galley (kitchen), and appropriate facilities for less-abled members (including lifts for access to the clubhouse and boats). There is ample free parking, free wifi / internet access and a large outdoor seating area overlooking the water (great for lunch on good weather days).

Wetsuits, personal flotation devices, splash tops, gloves, etc are available to borrow free of charge, if required.

Course Fees

The fees are set at £200 per participant (there is a subsidised £100 fee for LBSC members).

Club Membership

It is Club policy that each participant must be a member to attend these Courses (for reasons of governance, insurance, etc). For those not currently members of LBSC, Day Membership will be granted free of charge to cover the two days of the Course - this will require completion of a Day Membership Form at the time of attendance.
