Wales Beginner and Intermediate Weekend 2nd-4th October 2026  

This is a mixed ability weekend for both beginner and intermediate paddlers. 

This is a great opportunity for beginner and intermediate paddlers alike to get some coaching, practice their skills, and socialise with follow paddlers from the club. 

Beginners: Before signing up to this trip you must have had some basic experience on moving water. This would mean completing one of our pool introductory sessions or attending at least 3 evening sessions and/or river trips. You do not need to be really confident about skills, that's what this weekend is about, but you do need to be comfortable getting in and out of a boat and on a moving river.

Intermediates: If you are looking for some coaching/guidance please sign up as mixed ability. If you are looking for minimal guidance then please sign up on the general intermediate option. 

We will be based in and around Llangollen and utilising Mile End Mill and the Dee. There may be a river trip planned to depend on water levels. If there isn't any water Mile End Mill is available again and the Dee runs at low levels. The fee for using Mile End Mill is currently £7 per person per day. This will be payable individually on the day. 

Accommodation is in Llangollen Hostel. Bed linen is provided, please bring your own towels. The price includes accommodation for Friday and Saturday night, and does not include breakfast. LCC have the entire hostel for the weekend including full use of the kitchen and common areas. Its centrally located, with many shops and restaurants nearby. There is a public car park beside the hostel, payable locally.

We encourage car sharing where possible. There will be a WhatsApp group set up and lift sharing can be organised there.

Kit can be borrowed from the club for this weekend. Please contact a member of the committee well in advance to arrange this
