Katie Lam is the Conservative Member of Parliament for Weald of Kent and serves as an Opposition Assistant Whip. A former Deputy Chief of Staff at 10 Downing Street, Katie brings experience in national security and government strategy, alongside a successful career in finance and technology. She studied Classics at Cambridge, where she led the Cambridge Union, and has since championed policies on security and individual freedoms. Outside politics, Katie is an award-winning lyricist and scriptwriter, with works staged in London and New York.

The Conservative Party has a proud history of championing diversity and selecting openly LGBT+ candidates at every level of government—from local councils to Parliament. This year, we fielded a record number of LGBT+ candidates across the country. From Gareth Streeter in Plymouth to Shane Painter in Orkney and Shetland, our members stood in constituencies across the United Kingdom.
During the last election cycle, we were proud to support over 30 LGBT+ Conservatives, backed by a fund of more than £35,000 thanks to your generosity. Candidates such as Blake Stephenson MP were elected for the first time, while long-standing champions like the Rt. Hon. Stuart Andrew MP and the Rt. Hon. David Mundell MP successfully returned to Parliament in what was a challenging election.
This event is about celebrating those successes—and, more importantly, reaffirming our commitment to rebuilding trust and support within the LGBT+ community. To defeat this disastrous Labour government, we must start by strengthening that relationship.

- Special guests and venue details will be announced closer to the date. Expect to meet some of our patrons and parliamentary candidates who have benefited from the Fund’s support.
Every penny raised for the Candidates’ Fund is held in a dedicated account and used exclusively to provide financial backing for our candidates—helping them share the Conservative message and win seats in 2029. Your support ensures we have strong representatives backed by the LGBT+ community, local activists, and ultimately, voters.
