Llandegfedd Sailing Club
Pathway Training
Our Pathway Training weekends will offer high end coaching for sailors who are looking to progress on the race circuit within Wales and Nationally. We will be offering training at Llandegfedd for the Topper class.
Sailors should:
- have completed their RYA Start Racing module (or have equivalent experience) and be comfortable sailing around a course independently.
- be able to stay out on the water for 2 hour sessions.
- have been sailing regularly at a club for at least one season.
- be able to launch and recover their boat (with some support).
- Welsh squad sailors are also welcome.
If a sailor needs to use one of our club Toppers for a weekend, this can be arranged if you contact us in advance. There will be a £10 charge for the weekend if you are not an LLSC member.
We aim to run 5 Pathway Training weekends between September and April (dates to be announced) depending upon weather conditions and water levels at Llandegfedd.
Essential Information
Training will be run between 9.30am and 4.30pm. Boats should be rigged ready. Sailors do not need to be changed into wet kit.
All sailors should bring packed lunch, snacks and water with them on both days.
Please ensure all sailors are dressed for the weather. Winter sailing kit would be recommended in the colder months.
Parents do not need to stay, but emergency contact details must be left at registration and sailors must be signed in and out each day.
A shore parent will be requested to cover the group and must be available on site all day (could be different people each day).
