Lake District Rafting Trip _ Hard Booking
Hello I am looking at organising a rafting weekend in the Lake District covering the river Leven and Kent (or whatever is running). Possibly staying at https://www.witherslackcyclebarn.co.uk. Looks fairly decent bunkhouse accommodation and comes with recommendation. The rivers both have significant rapids up to grade 4, which would be out of club remit so we would be looking to hire Jon Best (Raft Guide) and team to help us run these rivers, experiencing some great white water and continuing to train our rafters. This is probably not a beginners to paddlesports trip but if you have rafted before/or willing to have a go beforehand then you could be a beginner to rafting. You should have some degree of confidence in white water then this trip is for you. It will be run as a "fun and guided" trip rather than raft racing. If you want an idea of the sort of rafting we are talking about, review the videos of a trip I ran last year with another club https://youtu.be/ao5Jix4VQNw?s... https://youtu.be/VVyVKx3Acbo?s... Please consider your level of "Kit", it gets cold in December so this is probably dry suit territory. Helmets/paddles/rafts can all be organised but your personal kit should be good enough to keep you warm and dry (we had icicles last year- but the trip was awesome!) Under 18's will need to be accompanied throughout the trip. This trip will not be suitable for under 14's (but argue with me if you disagree and we will consider on a case by case basis). The pencilled date is currently 30th November-1st December Cost wise to include accommodation and Jon's costs, we are looking in the region of around £160 each. This would mean filling bunkhouse rooms and rafts etc. THis is now a hard booking and none refundable Please pay by end september Thanks Andy H |
