Sort 2024 TRIP FULL - Contact Martyn Long if you were hoping to come.
Llangollen Canoe Club is pleased to announce that from the 12th to 22nd August 2024 we will be heading to Spain to paddle the beautiful water of the Noguera Pallaresa in the Pyrenees. We will be based in the town of Sort, camping here, a super location right on the river and close (but not too close!) to the town centre for bars, cafes, restaurants etc, Members of the club have been twice before and so we know what a fantastic river it is for a club trip with all grades of white water from 2 to 4 spread across different sections, including stunning scenery. Dam release so guaranteed water! Club river leaders and coaches will accompany the trip so that everyone can be looked after and challenge themselves with the appropriate support in place.
There are options available for travel:
Car sharing and drive via ferry - Dover to Calais or Portsmouth to Bilbao or Plymouth to Santander
Fly and hire a car, for example, Barcelona airport is about a 3-hour drive from Sort
Final arrangements will be made once we know numbers and people’s preferences. We will try and be as flexible as possible in terms of people needing to leave a day or 2 early or arrive a day or 2 late. Costs will depend on how people travel, final numbers etc. but overseas kayak trips have traditionally been relatively inexpensive in terms of travel and accommodation. Food and drink costs are down to the individuals - some might cook their own meals in the campsite with the occasional meal out, whereas others……!
In order to move forward we are asking for a £50 deposit per person so that we can plan appropriately knowing that people are committed.
