2015 Phantom Northern Championships 11th/12th April
1. Rules
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing
2. Fees
Entry fees are: Weekend fee: Single Hander £20 online entry available until 9th April, £28 on the day for all entries after this date
3. Schedule
Registration: from 12:00
Briefing: 13.20 on Saturday 11th April
Saturday 11th April: Warning signal for the first fleet for race 1: 1355, race 2 follow.
Sunday 12th April: Warning signal for the first fleet for race 3: 1055, races 4 & 5 to follow.
4. Sailing Instructions
Sailing Instructions will be emailed automatically when entering and be displayed at the club
5. Courses
The courses to be sailed will be described in the sailing instructions.
6. Scoring
1 race is required to constitute a series
When fewer than 4 races have been completed a boat’s series score will be the total of all her race scores. When 4 or more races have been completed a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores, excluding her worst score. Prizes will be awarded according to the number of entries in each fleet, but at least for the first 3 places.
7. Insurance
Each participating boat will be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of at least £3,000,000.
8. Disclaimer of Liability
The safety of a boat and her entire management including insurance shall be the sole responsibility of the owner/person in charge who must ensure that the boat and the crew are adequate to face the conditions that may arise in the course of the race. Neither these sailing instructions nor any inspection of the boat limits or reduces the absolute responsibility of the owner/person in charge for the crew, the boat and her management. The race organisers, who are the Leigh and Lowton Sailing Club, and Race Committee shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury howsoever caused to the owner/person in charge or crew as a result of their taking part in the race or races. Moreover, every owner/person in charge warrants the suitability of the boat for the race or races.
9. Cancellation
If cancellation is required due to weather or any other unforeseen event, then this will be notified via the website at least 24 hours before the start time for the event.
