The Leigh & Lowton FLASH DASH is a season opener and a bookend event to Bassenthwaite SC's GNAC (Great Northern Asymmetric Challenge). FLASH DASH is a new event that brings classes together to enjoy good cross-class company, with good quality and competitive racing in a warm, fun atmosphere throughout the weekend. We could have called it GMAC (Greater Manchester Asymmetric Challenge), but that would have been daft.

LLSC are inviting Asymmetric classes of dinghies to join in a festival of racing over Saturday and Sunday. The prerequisite is that any entry must be an asymmetric monohull class and under 21 feet in length.

The event is free to all LLSC club members.

Visitors are welcome to arrive on Friday. There will be an open bar in the clubhouse throughout the weekend. The Galley will be serving hot food, drinks, and outstanding cakes throughout the weekend from our Galley. Entertainment and an evening meal are planned for Saturday night.

We have a landscaped, lakeside camping field for competitors to camp, caravan, or motorhome on site for free. We have also negotiated a discount at the nearby (walkable) Village Inn Hotel.

Visitors, please note that online entries only will be accepted; no cash will be accepted on the day.

9. Reminder- entry fee for LLSC members is free for both days of the FLASH DASH weekend.

The warning signal for the first race will be

1. Saturday 11:57hrs (Briefing 11:20hrs)- 1st race, then at least three further races, which may be back-to-back with a break for lunch. Evening meal and entertainment.
2. Sunday 10:27hrs (Briefing 10:00hrs) - The first race warning signal will be at 10:27 hrs, followed by further races, which may be back-to-back, with a break for lunch. No warning signal will be sounded after 15:30 hrs. Prizegiving.

Class Results

1. Fleet Results for the FLASH DASH Event will depend on the numbers in each Class. Classes with 10 or more entries per fleet will have their own fleet start. There will be a Handicap Fleet for classes with fewer numbers.

Class Open Fleets

Each fleet will be considered for separate starts, depending on numbers on Saturday and Sunday.
