Sunrise to Sunset (S2S) Team Event 2025

Leigh & Lowton SC are pleased to announce our fourth annual long-distance Endurance Race on Saturday 14th June 2025 for affiliated sailing clubs, University sailing societies and youth groups.
Entries will be limited to teams sailing in GP14s, International Enterprises, and Fireflys. A team will be formed from bona fide members of the affiliated sailing club or association, such as a university, youth group, or training group. Each boat entered will fall into one of four categories of teams: Unrestricted, Masters, Ladies, and University/Youth.
During the length of The Endurance Race, there will be one overall race run during the day, and ‘races within the race.’
Notice of Race and Additional Event Information documents will be attached by the end of May 2025 and provide greater detail. These documents will be attached to this entry form with full event details. Sailing Instructions will be issued nearer to the event.
The format will be a 17-hour race on Saturday 14th June 2025 commencing at 04:40BST (Sunrise), over a course at Leigh & Lowton Sailing Club, with changeovers of team members as needed.
Fees
- Entry is online-only, via this page.
- Standard entry fees for a Team will be £150 per boat, with University/Youth entrants £100 per boat to cover prizes and incidentals
- There will be an early entry fee of £100 standard and £50 University/Youth, this will close at 23:59hrs on Sunday 31st March 2025
- There will be an offer for the third or subsequent entry/ies from the same clubs or universities/youth groups, these teams have a free entry.
- Entry closes at 23:59hrs on Friday 31st May 2025, but teams need only be finalised by 23:59hrs on Thursday 12th June 2025.
Schedule
- Registration will be from 18:00 to 23:00hrs on Friday 13th June 2025.
- There will be a competitor briefing at approximately 19:00 on Friday 13th June 2024. The briefing will be videoed and posted on The Event Facebook page by 20:00hrs on Friday 13th June 2025.
- The scheduled time of the Warning Signal for The Race is 04:35hrs on Saturday 14th June.
- The scheduled time for The Race to finish is 21.40hrs.
- One race is scheduled, with 'races within The Race'.
- If cancellation is required due to weather or any other unforeseen event, then this will be notified via the llsc.org.uk website, LLSC Facebook page, The Event WhatsApp group and email.

- The galley will be open for the following times over the weekend of the Endurance Race:
- From approximately 18:00 until 22:00 on Friday 13thJune serving food
- From approximately 04:00 until 23:00 on Saturday 14th June serving hot food, hot drinks and cakes plus a social evening meal after the race has finished.
- From approximately 09:00 until 16:00 on Sunday 15th June serving hot food, hot drinks and cakes.
- Overnight camping will be available and is free of charge with each entry.
