For RYA Dinghy Instructors and instructors in some other disciplines, the RYA Safe and Fun course is a pre-requisite before you can qualify. You’ll need to complete this short online course before you begin on your instructor course.

It may also be relevant to those working in club environments. The course generally takes around three hours to complete. There is no option to complete it in the classroom – although instructor courses follow it up with a short workshop. Upon completion, you’ll receive a certificate that does not expire.

Safe and Fun (Safeguarding)

Please note the following:

1. We may take up to two working days to register you on the RYA's system. This is after we receive your payment. 
2. You will have instructional support for your course up to six months after the purchase date, and you will have access to the course for one year.
3. We provide a reasonable level of support for online courses, but if a great deal of tuition is required, may choose to charge for this.
4. You will be prompted for your name and other details. You must ensure that these are correct on the bookings form, as these are what will be used to transfer your information across, and will utimately be on your certificate.
