Brief History
Late Mr. N. C. Kelkar , a noted Marathi writer and a politician, founded the Maharashtra Mandal London in 1932. He was in London then to attend the round-table conference. Many dignitaries such as Dr. Ambedkar, Barrister Jaikar, were present at the inauguration tea party. Mr Tamhankar of “Kesari” newspaper, who earlier worked as Mr. Kelkar’s secretary. continued to organise a number of get together/programmes till the outbreak of the second world war. Post war, Mr. Balasaheb Kher the then High Commissioner of India in London, helped revival of the mandal. The mandal acquired its own premises at 306, Dollis Hill Lane, London, NW6 2HH during 1991 where MML celebrates its annual signature event of Ganeshotsav. The donations play a major part in funding the mandal's charitable activities and the mandal is ever grateful for the generosity of all the donors.

Joining Maharashtra Mandal London, which is one of the oldest community driven charity organisation, is a rich and rewarding experience. You get the opportunity to connect with like-minded people, facilitate and participate in numerous community events such as cultural activities, festivals and sammelans with friends and family.
At the same time, MML runs various events to give back to our society, other social organisations and people who need our support, and by being a member, you feel satisfied by doing your part to make a difference in other people’s lives.
